"VERANDA" Italian restaurant

The purpose of this report is is to assess the restaurant
“veranda”. . This Italian restaurant is very attractive with
a large open veranda and inside tables where you sit
comfortably on a sofa to eat. This is one of the better
Italian restaurants in UB and is frequented primarily by
expat residents and tourists. The ambiance is... the magnet
here.

Diners lounge on roomy couches and enjoy a glass of
wine from the extensive selection in their walk-in wine cellar.
The food is quite good, although the portions are a touch
on the small side. If you're looking to dine like a Mongolian,
this won't be a good match for you, but it's a good place to
get semi-authentic Italian in a cozy atmosphere. There was
good olive tapenade with rolls to start, then we had a very
nice salad to share between three of us before we had our main
courses. We had a lovely meal and there was no trouble asking
for a doggy bag to take the other half of my meal home.
The restaurant was full and although there were a lot of
tourists there were also a lot of elegant Mongolians.
If you are craving a steak and real grilled vegetables
this is the place to go! The beef tenderloin in any style is tender,
the flavors are anything but bland, the portions are very good for the
type of rest...aurant it is. Their pasta dishes are quite good also.
I will definately be going back for more!
There is a non-smoking area which is smaller and not as decorated
as the main area, but it is fairly smoke free.
The location has nice views, comfortable seating and good service.
You'll find the locals dining there dressed in more than a t-shirt
and jeans, but the atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming.
